1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your use of the Paycheck by Paycheck application and related services ("Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Service on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

This license does not include the right to sublicense, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to form a binding agreement.

You are responsible for:

Maintaining account credential confidentiality
All activity under your account
Notifying us promptly of unauthorized use

4. Service Description

The Service provides personal budgeting tools including:

Paycheck-based budget planning and pay schedule management
Recurring expense and envelope budgeting workflows
Goal and savings tracking
Optional third-party bank account connectivity via Plaid
Push notifications for budget events and paycheck reminders

Features may be updated, modified, or removed at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Access to premium features requires an active subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. All billing, payment processing, and subscription management is handled by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.

Subscription Plans

Annual Plan: $49.99 per year — billed once annually
Monthly Plan: $5.99 per month — billed monthly

Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 14-day free trial. The trial begins on the date you subscribe and your payment method will be charged at the end of the trial period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings or in the iOS Settings app under Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.

Price Changes

We may change subscription pricing with advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Apple (billing), Plaid (bank connectivity), and Sentry (error monitoring). Use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for outages, data issues, or errors caused by third-party providers or financial institutions.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
Reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
Interfere with Service performance or security
Share your account credentials with others

8. Financial Disclaimer

The Service provides budgeting and planning tools for informational purposes only.

We do not provide financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within the Service is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, abuse, fraud, or legal compliance reasons. You may delete your account at any time from within the application settings.

Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 8, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
